River Road Des Plaines, Illinois 60018 In each of the five next years more than 100 superintendents in the state of Illinois are expected to retire. This lplus the annual turnover of superintendents opens the door for those aspiring to become chief administrators of districts. The job of the superintendent is to balance many demands ... even when these demands are competing for resources, time, and attention. In addition to talking about daily demands of the job, a good part of the day will be devoted to the hiring process, interviewing, and negotiating that first contract. Dr. Hager is in her thirteenth year as Superintendent and her seventh year as Superintendent of North Shore School District 112. Prior to this time, she was Superintendent in Mount Prospect School District 57 and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, a middle school principal and an elementary principal in Arlington Heights School District 25.
