EVALUATION THAT ENHANCES PROFESSIONAL PRACTICES DIFFERENTIATING SUPERVISORY PRACTICES
With presenter Kevin O'Connor, Retired Principal, School District 26 - Cary, Illinois on Tuesday, September 30, 2008 - 8:00 A.M. until 3:15 P.M. To be held at National-Louis University - Elgin, Illinois  Participants may receive Administrators Academy Credit for full-day participation in this program. (Academy 27) "Super"vision implies that school leaders have extraordinary ability to see beyond the norm. In truth, supervision brings another set of eyes to instruction that assists teachers to "see" their work, assess its effectiveness and discover ways to improve. How do principals insure that their "super"vision will help teachers be their very best? How does the supervisor maintain a sense of partnership with teachers even as they supervise? The workshop will address: • Models of supervision such as clinical, peer coaching, cognitive coaching • Supervision of all types of staff - exceptional to marginal • Practical supervision: Three-minute walk-throughs, communication, feedback • Supervision of certified and non-certified staff, and • Principal credibility Program Fees (include morning refreshments, lunch, and materials)
